Data Record AD 1.1 Readme

This file contains important information about Data Record Autonomous Driving 1.1 (Data Record AD) and the Data Record AD Configuration Editor 1.1 (Configuration Editor), including installation instructions. You can use Data Record AD for developing, executing, debugging, and deploying in-vehicle datalogging configurations on the Data Record System AD (Data Record System). The Configuration Editor provides a utility that you can use to configure the I/O plug-ins, data sources and sinks, and data streams within Data Record AD.

Included Components

Data Record AD 1.1 includes the following required component:

  • Data Record AD Configuration Editor 1.1 (Configuration Editor)

Data Record AD 1.1 includes the following optional components:

  • Data Record AD User Interface
  • Built I/O plug-ins

System Requirements

Data Record AD 1.1 has the following requirements:

  • 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor (or equivalent)
  • Minimum disk capacity of 160 GB
  • Minimum 8 GB of RAM
  • Minimum .NET Framework: 4.6.2

Supported Controllers and Operating Systems

Data Record AD 1.1 supports the following controllers:

  • PXIe-8861
  • PXIe-8880
  • PXIe-8881

Note  The PXIe-8881 controller is functionally supported, but its high power consumption levels must taken into account during power budgeting.

Data Record AD 1.1 supports the following operating system:

  • Windows 10 (64-bit only)

Installation Instructions

Download the Data Record AD software installer from ni.com/downloads. NI software includes NI Package Manager to handle the installation. Refer to the NI Package Manager Manual for more information about installing, removing, and upgrading NI software using NI Package Manager.

Notes

  • The Data Record AD software installer will automatically install the Configuration Editor. The Visualization Toolkit and the example I/O plug-ins are optional add-ons.
  • If Windows Update is enabled, the installation process might hang if Windows Update interferes with the installation of Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Run-Time. Visit ni.com/r/exjq43 for more information and steps to resolve this issue.
  • Use the serial number that is included with your software to activate Data Record AD 1.1. For more information about Data Record AD software activation, refer to NI Software Activation.

New Features

Data Record AD 1.1 adds the following major new feature:

  • Async Error Handlers—Data Record AD now logs application errors by default and allows you to introduce custom handling of plug-in-generated errors.

Automating the Installation of NI Products

You can automate the installation of most NI products using command-line arguments to suppress some or all of the installer user interface and dialog boxes.

The .NET 4.6.2 installer may run before any NI software installs and may require a reboot before the installation of NI software begins. To avoid a .NET reboot, install .NET 4.6.2 separately before you install NI software.

Microsoft Windows 10 is the latest version of the Windows operating system and features significant changes compared to previous versions.
