In PAconfigurator, a data source refers to a specific server and the database configuration.

PAtools Databases

PAtools databases are stored in a Microsoft® SQL Server®. The SQL Server® versions supported by the current PAtools version can be found in the installation requirements.

To access your SQL Server®, you need the following information from your IT administrator:

  • (Required) Name of the server
  • (Required only if multiple instances are set up) Name of the server instance
  • (Required) Name of the database
  • (Required) Authentication type:
    • Windows authentication (default). Recommended for security reasons.
    • Login with SQL Server® login and password. Not recommended.
