You can preview, switch between, dock/undock, float, and group certain tabs and panes in the Database Viewer application.

Document Selector

Press <Ctrl+Tab> to launch the document selector when the Database Viewer window is active to display a list of open panes and tabs and a preview of the selected pane or tab. Hold down the <Ctrl>key and use the arrow keys or the mouse to navigate through the list. The document that is selected when you release the <Ctrl> key becomes the active document when you close the document selector.

Dock/Undock

Tabs in the Database Viewer can be docked/undocked and floated as required. To undock a tab, double-click on the tab or drag it out of the main window or right-click on the tab header and choose the Float option.

To dock a floating tab, drag it over the main application window and choose a docking location.

Note
  • You can undock and float the Database Explorer pane like a tab. However, this pane cannot be closed.
  • Operations selected from the main application menu do not apply to floating tabs. The shortcuts for these operations can be used for the active floating tab to accomplish the same action.

Tab Groups

You can organize tabs into horizontal or vertical groups by dragging the tabs to the location you want or by using the context menu in the tab headers.
