The Measurement Data Service (MDS) Result Processor stores test data in a structured format that you can use to get insight into the environmental conditions associated with tests.

  1. Configure » Result Processing
  2. Click the wrench icon in the MDS Data Store row.
  3. Enable Include system metadata to allow TestStand to save the following information about the test system.
    • Connected NI hardware
    • Connected hardware with NI VISA drivers
    • Installed NI software
  4. Complete the following steps to define more metadata.
    1. Enable Include custom metadata.
    2. Click the three dot button next to Custom metadata assembly and select your custom assembly.

    3. In the Custom metadata class dropdown menu, select the metadata builder you want to use from your assembly.
  5. Click OK twice.
Once you have run a test with MDS Data Store enabled, you can ask NI Nigel ™ AI questions about the results and conditions of that test. You can also use the MDS API for Python or LabVIEW to query historical data.
