Complete the following steps to determine whether an FPGA target supports DMA communication:

  1. Right-click the FPGA target in the Project Explorer window and select Properties. LabVIEW displays the FPGA Target Properties dialog box.
  2. Locate the Target Information section, which displays the Number of DMA Channels.

  • Refer to your FPGA target hardware documentation for information about how that target supports and handles DMA communication.
  • The RIO Scan Interface and the NI Scan Engine require two DMA channels. You can use fewer channels by interleaving data over one channel.
