Configure PROFIBUS for standard fieldbus communication.

The system supports the following PROFIBUS cards:
  • Hilscher CIFX50E-DP/+ML
  • Hilscher CIFX50E-DP
  • Hilscher CIFX80E-DP
  1. Right-click the Hardware folder and select Add item.
    The configuration window appears.
  2. In the IdRef menu, select the PROFIBUS card that you want to configure.
  3. Optional: Enter the devicenumber of the PROFIBUS master or PROFIBUS slave.
    During a reboot, the real-time system searches for all PROFIBUS cards that were activated in PAtools PCU Configuration. The real-time system assigns the devicenumber automatically. The first card that the real-time system finds is assigned devicenumber 0. Only configure the devicenumber parameter if you want to change the automatic mapping of the PCI card to the devicenumber.
    Note The devicenumber parameter corresponds to the device number in PAconfigurator. In PAtools PCU Configuration, the devicenumber starts with 0. However, in PAconfigurator, the device number starts with 1.
  4. Optional: For io_runmask, enter the bitmask for the CPU core on which the driver runs.
    The io_runmask parameter is only for CIFX50 cards. The following table is an example for defining the io_runmask for a 4-core processor.

  5. Optional: For a PROFIBUS slave, enter the slaveid.
    Enter a number ≥0 and < 127. The slaveid parameter is only for CIFX50 cards.
After you configure PROFIBUS in PAtools PCU Configuration, configure the PROFIBUS group type in PAconfigurator.
