Hosting a WebVI with the Web Applications Service

Host a WebVI on the NI Web Server with the Web Applications Service to securely share it with users on the server.

Before hosting a WebVI with the Web Applications Service, create a package (.nipkg) in G Web Development Software that contains the WebVI.
Note To host a web application on an NI web server, the index page must have one of the following names.
  • Index.htm
  • Index.html
  • Main.htm
  • Main.html
  • Function.htm
  • Function.html
  1. In the NI Web Server web application, open the navigation menu, and click Web Applications.
  2. Click IMPORT.
  3. Select the package you want to upload from your local machine.
  4. Click UPLOAD.
    Note In G Web Development Software all WebVIs are uploaded to the Default workspace.
  5. Click the WebVI to run it.
  6. To update an existing WebVI, select the WebVI and click Update.
Users who have WebVI permissions can interact with the WebVI you uploaded.
