Adding or Editing Variant Data Attributes

Use the Set Variant Attribute function to add attributes to variant data or edit the values of existing attributes.

Complete the following steps to add or edit variant data attributes.

  1. Add the Set Variant Attribute function to the block diagram.
  2. Wire the variant data to the variant input of the Set Variant Attribute function.
  3. Wire the name of the attribute you want to edit or add and the value of that attribute to the Set Variant Attribute function.
  4. Wire the variant out output of the Set Variant Attribute function to any VI or function that accepts variant data as an input.
  5. Run the VI. The block diagram appears similar to the following block diagram.
