Assign your system a name that makes it easy to identify.

Before you begin, you must connect the system to SystemLink Enterprise as a managed system.
When a client system connects to SystemLink Enterprise, SystemLink Enterprise uses the system hostname to identify it. A hostname is often not human readable because IT administrators require each hostname in a network be unique. Changing the system alias helps you quickly identify the system.
  1. In the SystemLink web application under Systems Management, click Systems.
  2. Click the system you want to rename.
  3. Click Settings in the toolbar.
  4. For Name, enter the alias you want to give the system.
Tip To enter additional identifying information, use the Description field.
You can now filter or search for the system by the name you assigned it.
