Right-click a polymorphic VI on the block diagram, select Open Polymorphic VI from the shortcut menu to display the Polymorphic VI window, and click the Edit Name button to display this dialog box.

Use this dialog box to edit the name of an instance on the shortcut menus of a polymorphic VI and its selector.

This dialog box includes the following components:

Option Description
Menu Name

Specifies the name of the instance on the polymorphic VI shortcut menu. To create a hierarchical shortcut menu, use a colon (:) to separate menu items. Enter \: to use a colon in the menu name.
Polymorphic VI Selector Name

Specifies the name of the instance on the polymorphic VI selector shortcut menu. To create a multiline selector name, press the <Enter> key on the keyboard to start a new line.
