FlexRay Frame Properties

The following properties are available on the Frame Properties page if the database cluster is configured to use the FlexRay protocol.

Name—Name of the frame. This must be unique within the cluster.

Payload Length—Number of data bytes that can be transmitted in the frame's payload. The payload length for FlexRay frames is 0 to 254 bytes.

Cycle Repetitions—Frequency in which the frame is transmitted (e.g., Every cycle, Every 64 cycles, Four times per cycle).

In-Cycle Repetitions—Provides a Slot ID and Channel Assignment for cycle repetitions, up to four repetitions within a cycle.

Slot ID—FlexRay frame identifier. The valid value range for a Slot ID is 1–2047.

Channel Assignment—FlexRay channels on which the frame must be transmitted: Channel A, Channel B, or both A and B. A frame can be transmitted only on existing FlexRay channels, configured in the FlexRay Cluster Properties.

Sync—Indicates the frame is a sync frame, which is used for clock synchronization.

Startup—Indicates the frame is a startup frame. Startup frames are special sync frames transmitted first after a network startup; a FlexRay startup frame is also a sync frame.

Preamble—For a static frame, indicates the first n bytes of the payload are used as a Network Management Vector (n is the Network Management Vector Length cluster parameter). For a dynamic frame, indicates the first two payload bytes are used as message ID.

Mapped PDUs—Any PDU(s) mapped to this frame. Displays the PDU name, the start bit of the PDU inside the frame, and the update bit for the PDU inside the frame.

Bit Layout—Visual element depicting the signals contained within this frame and the byte order of each signal. Beneath the bit layout on the Frame Properties page, you can select Show as PDUs to show the PDU(s) mapped to this frame.
