Editing Clusters

Edit or delete an existing cluster, or create a new database cluster.

Editing a Cluster

Edit an existing cluster by adding or deleting database objects, such as frames, PDUs, and signals, or by modifying cluster properties.

Deleting a Cluster

To delete a cluster, select the cluster in the navigation tree, and then select Edit » Delete.

Creating a New Cluster

New clusters can be created only in ARXML, NCD, and XML database files; you can export clusters from DBC and LDF database files.
  1. Right-click the database in the navigation tree, select Create Cluster and a communication protocol: CAN, FlexRay, or LIN.
  2. Provide a name for the cluster, and configure the available cluster properties, which vary by communication protocol.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • For FIBEX XML database files, select File » Save to save your changes to the database.
    • For ARXML and NCD database files, select File » Save As, and save the modified database in FIBEX XML format.
