Use a volume license server to manage volume licenses. Use the volume license server to perform tasks such as configuring preferences, handling permissions, and renewing agreements.

To start an inactive server, click Start Volume License Server in the Status view, or select Tools » Start Volume License Server.

To stop an active server, click Stop Volume License Server in the Status view or select Tools » Stop Volume License Server.

Note Checkouts that are active when a volume license server shuts down are considered active until the server restarts and the license is not in use.
