Video Standards Files

NI VMS reads important information about all supported video standards from three separate configuration files:

"CVBS Video Standards.ini" for Composite and S-Video standards

"CAV Video Standards.ini" for Component standards

"VGA Video Standards.ini" for Computer VGA (Component) standards

These video standard configuration .ini files are not required for the digital measurements.

These video standards files may be edited by the user if additional standards are required. The only requirements are that the existing section format and keyword structure is used for all new standards and the order of existing standards should not be disturbed. The zero-based index number of the standard in the file is stored with the signal when it is captured and saved to a video binary file. If the order of standards in the file are changed, loading an existing binary file may cause a video standard mismatch. The section names of standards that are defined in square brackets appear in the video standards lists in the NI VMS User Interface, but the original index numbers must be used in the API.
