Camera Analysis Zone
The Analysis Zone is required only for certain Camera measurements. The zone is used to narrow down the region of analysis within the active picture area in order to exclude unwanted active picture content near the outer edges.
The picture below illustrates the typical position of the active picture region within a single field. The Analysis Zone is a rectangular subsection of the active picture.
NI VMS defines a “Default” zone which corresponds to the entire active picture. NI VMS stores zone definitions in the Camera Zones.ini file in the configuration directory. All other zones are defined by the user. The border of the currently selected zone will be shown in the display on the Picture tab.

Camera Analysis Zone Editor
The Camera Analysis Zone Editor has a graphical display of the active picture region and current zone location, with interactive cursors that define the top-left and bottom-right corners of the zone boundary. To edit the zone, simply drag one of the cursors with the mouse. The zone cannot be made to lie outside the active picture region, and the top-left and bottom-right corners cannot be dragged past each other. Pressing the Reset Zone to Active Picture button will make the zone fit to the outer edge of the active picture region. Numerical information about the size of the video fields, active picture region, and zone are also displayed.
