Configure Operation

The Configure operation configures a DMM for a typical measurement, which includes setting the measurement function, desired range, desired resolution, and trigger source. Additional configurable settings include the minimum and maximum frequency of the input signal for AC measurements and acquiring multiple measurements based on multiple triggers and taking multiple measurements per trigger.

Note The Configure operation handles only settings the base IVI class specification supports and the extension groups you specify on the Extensions tab. For best results, enable only the extensions the application requires.

The Edit IVI Dmm Step dialog box for the Configure operation contains the following tabs:

  • Basic —The function the DMM performs and specifies resolution, frequency, triggering, and range settings.
  • Advanced —Additional settings for multipoint measurements and other extensions.
  • Temperature —Additional information for the temperature measurements.
  • Extensions —The extensions to enable in the dialog box.
  • Operation Settings —Specifies where the dialog box saves and reloads the operation settings.
