Renaming an Instance

Rename a DataFinder, Data Preprocessor, Analysis Automation, or Federation instance if you want to assign a different name to the instance.

In Data Preparation or Data
Indexing:
- Click Data Preprocessor Instances or DataFinder Instances on the dashboard.
- Select an instance and click if the instance is running.
- Click .
- Optional:
In Analysis Automation:
- Click Instance on the dashboard.
- Click if the instance is running.
- Click .
- Enter a new name and click OK.
For DataFinder or Federation instances, complete the following additional
tasks:
- Export the client configuration (DataFinder) or the membership connection (Federation) to ensure that a client like DIAdem or LabVIEW can access the renamed instance.
- If an Analysis Automation instance receives data from the renamed DataFinder instance, edit the data source in the associated task in Analysis Automation.

Connect client software, such as DIAdem or LabVIEW, to a DataFinder instance on SystemLink Server to browse and search in the data of this instance. To do so, save the connection parameters in a client configuration file ( .urf ) and enable the connection on the client computer.
