Control access to your server more easily using roles related to common use cases.

Use the following table to decide which predefined roles to assign a user or group of users in your organization.

Note For detailed lists of privileges for each role, refer to Access Control in SystemLink Web Application. You cannot edit a predefined role, but you can duplicate it and edit the copy.
Role Privileges

Server Administrator

Full privileges for all SystemLink workspaces, applications, and roles
Note This is the most permissive role in SystemLink. Only users who administer access control should have this role.

Data Maintainer

  • Create, read, update, and delete privileges for tests, files, and data-related tasks
  • Read privileges for systems. assets, and alarms

Systems Maintainer

  • Create, read, update, and delete privileges for systems, assets, and alarms
  • Read privileges for test results, dashboards, tags, and data stores

Collaborator

  • Limited alarm, message, and DataPlugins privileges
  • Read privileges for all SystemLink applications

Automated Agent

Note You can assign this role to systems and analysis routines only.
  • Create, read, update, and delete privileges for tests, assets, files, and tags
  • Limited read privileges across other SystemLink applications

Workspace Owner

Assign role mapping and add users to workspaces they own

Note This role allows server administrators to delegate setting up access to SystemLink data and applications while limiting overall access to other workspaces.
