Create a diagnostics file to send to your NI support representative or submit in a service request through ni.com. Diagnostics files contain logging information from all existing DataFinder, Data Preprocessor, and Analysis Automation instances.

SystemLink TDM logs server activities in the Standard mode. Depending on the nature of the error, NI may ask you to change the logging mode for a limited period of time to create a more detailed diagnostics file.
Note You don't need to change the logging mode unless NI asks you to.
  1. Use one of the following applications to create a diagnostics file. In Data Indexing or Data Preparation:
    1. Click DataFinder Instances or DataPreprocessor Instances on the dashboard.
    2. Select an instance and click » Manage » Global Settings » Logfile and Diagnostics File.
Note In the Analysis Automation instance, click Global Settings » Logfile and Diagnostics File.
  2. Click Create.
Creating a diagnostics file may take a while. The diagnostics file contains the information scope from the active logging mode.
    Logging mode Description
Standard Writes basic information to the logfile.
Extended Writes additional information to the logfile to improve troubleshooting.
User-defined Logs custom information with an XML file you receive from NI following a support request. Upload this file here.
  3. Click the filename to open or save the ZIP file.
  4. If you need to change the logging mode, choose the required option and click OK. Run the logging mode for the length of time suggested. Then continue with steps 1-2 to create a diagnostics file.
Changing the logging mode takes effect immediately. All previous logfiles maintain their format and remain on the server.
