Predefined Roles in SystemLink Enterprise

Control access to SystemLink Enterprise applications and stored data more easily using roles related to common use cases.

To decide which predefined roles to assign a user or group of users, use the following table.

Note For detailed lists of privileges for each role, refer to Access Control in the SystemLink web application. You cannot edit a predefined role, but you can duplicate it and edit the copy. Changes to roles might take up to ten minutes to go into effect.
Role Privileges

Server Administrator

Full privileges for all SystemLink Enterprise workspaces, applications, and roles
Note Server Administrator is the most permissive role in SystemLink Enterprise. Assign this role only to users who administer access control.

Data Maintainer

  • Create, read, update, and delete privileges for tests, files, dashboards, and data-related tasks
  • Read privileges for systems and assets
  • Create and manage API keys

Systems Maintainer

  • Create, read, update, and delete privileges for systems, assets, alarms, and dashboards
  • Read privileges for test results and data stores
  • Create and manage API keys

Collaborator

Read privileges for all SystemLink Enterprise applications

Automated Agent

  • Create, read, update, and delete privileges for tests, assets, files, and tags
  • Limited read privileges across other SystemLink Enterprise applications
Note You can assign this role to systems only.

Workspace Owner

Assign role mapping and add users to the workspaces owned by the users
Note As a Server Administrator, use the Workplace Owner role to delegate tasks while limiting access to other workspaces. For example, you can delegate setting up access to data and applications.

Routine Maintainer

  • All routine privileges
  • Read and cancel notebook executions
