Installing the Radar Target Generation Software through NI Package Manager

Use NI Package Manager to install and set up NI Volume License Manager on the same system on which you will be running the Radar Target Generation hardware.

Note You cannot be logged in with the Administrator account to use the NI Volume License Manager. You must use an account with a different user name. The account can have administrator privileges and be a member of the administrator group.

Complete the following steps.

  1. If you plan to use LabVIEW with your RTG system, install and activate the following before installing the Radar Target Generation software:
    • To develop software using LabVIEW with the Radar Target Generation API, install and activate LabVIEW 2023 Full or Professional.
    • To develop FPGA code for a Coprocessor Harness, install and activate LabVIEW 2023 Full or Professional and the following LabVIEW add-ons:
      • LabVIEW FPGA Module
      • LabVIEW FPGA Compilation Tool for Vivado 2021.1
  2. Launch Package Manager.
    Note Refer to the Package Manager User Manual for complete information about using Package Manager.
  3. Use the search field in Package Manager to find the following packages:
    • Radar Target Generation Software
  4. On the product page, click INSTALL.
  5. Select the Radar Target Generator products you want to install on your system if they are not selected by default:
    • Radar Target Generation Driver
    • Core API
    • Local API
    • Remote API
    • Personality 1
  6. Click Next.
  7. Respond to the prompts during the installation process to continue.
    Note Package Manager may recommend additional software by default. NI recommends that you accept these additional items.
    Note Click Cancel on any windows that open with prompts to activate an RTG license.
  8. Follow the NI Package Manager prompts to complete the installation.
  9. Complete installation of the Radar Target Generation software:
    • If you are using the Radar Target Generation remote API, proceed to Installing gRPC with VI Package Manager (VIPM).
    • If you are using the Radar Target Generation driver, proceed to Activating the Radar Target Generation Software.
