Connecting the Hardware for Pulse Measurements
Perform the procedures in this section when setting up your hardware to perform pulse measurements with PXIe-5831, PXIe-5841, and PXIe-5842.
Note Refer to the hardware requirements listed in Pulse Measurement Hardware
Requirements. Ensure all components are installed in the chassis before completing
the procedure steps.
Connecting the Hardware for Pulse Measurements with the PXIe-5841 or PXIe-5842
Complete the following steps to configure your hardware for pulse measurements using the PXIe-5841 or PXIe-5842.
- Connect the RF OUT port of the VST to the input port of the DUT using an SMA cable.
-
Connect the output port of the DUT to the RF IN port of the VST using an SMA
cable.

- Connect the local oscillator (LO) of the generation and acquisition paths of the VST using either the internal LO or the PXIe-5655 as an external LO.
- (Optional) If using an internal LO, connect the RF OUT LO OUT and RF IN LO IN ports of the VST using an MMPX-to-MMPX cable.
Connecting the Hardware for Pulse Measurements with the PXIe-5831
- Connect the IF IN/OUT port 0 of the VST to the input port of the DUT.
-
Connect the output port of the DUT to the IF IN/OUT port 1 to the output port of the
DUT.
