Configuring the Firewall for the SQL Server
Configure your firewall to allow the SQL Server to operate on your system.
- Open the Windows Firewall & network protection.
- Select Advances settings.
- Select .
- From the Rule Type page, select Port.
- From the Protocol and Ports page, select TCP, Specific local ports, and enter 1433-1442.
- From the Action page, select Allow the connection.
- On the Profile page, enable all three checkboxes.
- In the Name field, enter SQL_DB_Engine.

Create a new rule with the following changes.
- From the Protocol and Ports page, select UDP, Specific local ports, and enter 1434.
- In the Name field, enter SQL_Browser.
