Configuring EtherCAT

Configure a network interface for each EtherCAT master.
- Open .

Right-click Interfaces and select Add
item.
The configuration window appears.
- Enter the DeviceName.

Leave the following fields blank:
- Ip
- Netmask
- Dhcp
- Optional: Enter a Comment.

Disable the Activated control.
If you enable the Activated control, the network operates as a network card. The network does not operate as an EtherCAT master.
- Open .

Right-click Hardware and select Add
item.
The configuration window appears.

In the IdRef menu, select
ethercatmaster.
The ethercatmaster variant is standard for EtherCAT and EtherCAT HotConfig groups.
- Optional: Enter a Comment.
- For the interface parameter, enter the name of the network interface.

For the devicenumber parameter, select the device number
of the EtherCAT master.
Select a number starting with 0. The devicenumber corresponds to the entry in the Master Number column of the EtherCAT Master group in PAconfigurator.

Specify the operation mode.
You can operate an EtherCAT master on a PXI controller in two modes.
- Mode 1: Manual initialization of the EtherCAT network when loading the test.
- Mode 2: Automatic initialization of the EtherCAT network when booting the PXI controller.
