Configuring Different Runtime Rates for the Test Logic, Measurements, and Communication

You can configure a runtime rate for test logic execution and a different rate for measurement data acquisition or fieldbus communication. Configuring lower runtime rates might allow you to test more cells at the test station.

Setting the Measurement and Fieldbus Rates to 500 Hz or 200 Hz

Complete the following steps to configure a measurement or fieldbus rate of 200 Hz or 500 Hz and a runtime rate of 1000 Hz.

  1. Navigate to the BFA_(basic_functions_and_actions_tables) » BFA_config configuration group.
  2. In each of the following groups, activate the row that corresponds to the desired frequency.
    1. BFA_Softwaretakt
    2. BFA_RT
  3. Ensure that the desired runtime rate configuration is linked from the BFA_(basic_functions_and_actions_tables) module to the desired battery application configuration.
  4. Optional: For measurements, select the desired frequency in the Measurements group.
  5. Optional: For fieldbus communication, select the desired frequency for the Operation Group column of the fieldbus group.

Setting the Measurement and Fieldbus Rates to 1000 Hz

Complete the following steps to configure a measurement or fieldbus rate of 1000 Hz and a runtime rate of 200 Hz or 500 Hz.

  1. Navigate to the BFA_(basic_functions_and_actions_tables) module.
  2. Copy the BFA_config configuration.
  3. In BFA_config » BFA_Softwaretakt, deactivate the BFA_FGB1000.F task.
  4. Create a task in the BFA_Softwaretakt group.
    1. Name the task and the activity.
    2. For Clock source, select Software clock.
    3. For Period [s], enter 0.001000.
    4. For Frequency [Hz], enter 1000.000.
    5. Enter a Priority.
    6. Enable Autostart and Surveillance.
    7. Ensure that the new task is Active.
  5. In the BFA_RT operation table group, create an additional operation table for the new task.
    Enter a meaningful name for the operation group in the new operation table. For example, enter HW_1000Hz.
  6. Optional: For measurements, select the new task in the Editing Task column for the 1000 Hz Measurement File in the measurements group.
  7. Optional: To parameterize the fieldbus group at 1000 Hz, select the Operation Group that you defined in step 5.
    For example, select HW_1000Hz.
  8. Link the new BFA_config configuration to the desired battery application configuration.
