The SLSC chassis utilizes a username and password authentication mechanism to restrict access to resources.

You can use the web interface to modify permissions. By default, all users are permitted to perform all SLSC LabVIEW API operations. You can change the permissions by restricting the RegisterAccess, ReadNVMEM, and WriteNVMEM permissions. All permissions are reset if the chassis is reset to the default factory configuration.

The following list specifies the default account configurations.

  • anonymous—This account is automatically used for SLSC connections where login information is not cached. The password is blank by default. You can delete this account if necessary.
  • admin—This account has all permissions granted. The password is blank by default. NI recommends changing this password because you can use this account for remote firmware upgrades and chassis reboots.
