Enabling the NI Scan Engine on Windows

The NI Scan Engine used by the DeviceNet I/O variable is not enabled on Windows by default. If your DeviceNet interface hardware is installed on the local host, complete the following steps to enable the NI Scan Engine on Windows.

1. Right-click the local host target item, and select Properties. The target properties dialog box appears.
2. Switch to the Scan Engine page and place a checkmark in the Start Scan Engine on Deploy checkbox.
3. Click OK to close the dialog box.
