Creating Applications on PCI and PXI

Build the DeviceNet network using one of these methods:

A DeviceNet network without an NI real-time controller—Install the DeviceNet interface card on the host, such as a PCI device.

A DeviceNet network with an NI real-time controller—Install the DeviceNet interface card on a real-time controller, such as a PXI device.

Use the DeviceNet VIs to develop your applications for PCI and PXI. To install the software on the host, complete the following steps.

1. Install the prerequisite software on the host according to the NI-Industrial Communications for DeviceNet Readme.
2. Install the NI-Industrial Communications for DeviceNet software on the host.
3. If you install the DeviceNet interface card on an NI real-time controller, install the NI-Industrial Communications for DeviceNet software on the real-time controller.
