The STROBE channel on the DDC connector is a dedicated channel for the STROBE signal. STROBE can be used only for acquisition sessions.

The data channels are sampled on the rising or falling edge of the STROBE signal, based on user selection, when STROBE is used as the sample clock. Using STROBE as the sample clock ensures that the clock and data travel together through the same cable and system delays, keeping them time-aligned.

Digital waveform generators and analyzers have one onboard clock. The generation and acquisition sessions on the same device typically use the same sample clock rate. Selecting STROBE as the acquisition clock allows generation and acquisition to use separate timebases.
