Static acquisition samples the configured channels once, capturing their current state. Static acquisition, like static generation, is controlled by software and does not use hardware timing.

Each data point requires a separate function call. Therefore, static acquisition is typically used for:

  • Single-point measurements
  • Low-speed applications

Static acquisition is useful for:

  • System and cable debugging
  • DC-level semiconductor testing
  • Other diagnostic or low-speed applications

Static acquisition is also called immediate, unstrobed, or nonlatched acquisition.
