Runs the instrument self-test routine and returns the test results.

Note When used on some signal generators, the device is reset after the niFgen Self-Test VI runs. If you use the niFgen Self-Test VI, your device may not be in its previously configured state after the VI runs.

Inputs/Outputs

  • civrn.png Instrument Handle —

    Instrument Handle identifies a particular instrument session.

    Instrument Handle is obtained from the niFgen Initialize VI, niFgen Initialize With Options VI, or the niFgen Initialize With Channels VI.

  • cu32.png Size of Self-Test Message —

    Size of Self-Test Message specifies the maximum size of the Self-Test Message string. Set Size of Self-Test Message to a minimum of 2,048.

  • cerrcodeclst.png error in (no error) —

    error in describes error conditions that occur before this node runs. This input provides standard error in functionality.

    Default value: no error

  • iivrn.png Instrument Handle Out —

    Instrument Handle Out passes a reference to your instrument session to the next VI.

  • istr.png Self-Test Message —

    Self-Test Message returns the self-test response string from the instrument.

  • ii16.png Self-Test Result —

    Self-Test Result returns the value returned from the instrument self-test. Zero means success.

  • ierrcodeclst.png error out —

    error out contains error information. This output provides standard error out functionality.
