niDCPower Reset Device VI
- Updated2025-10-06
- 2 minute(s) read
Resets all instruments in the session to a known state. This VI disables power generation, resets all properties for all instruments included in the session to their default values, clears errors such as overtemperature and unexpected loss of auxiliary power, commits the instrument properties, and leaves the instrument(s) in the Uncommitted state. This VI also performs a hard reset on the instrument(s) and driver software. This VI has the same functionality as using reset in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX).
This VI opens the output relay on instruments that have an output relay.

error in (no error)
—
error in describes error conditions that occur before this node runs. With the following exception, this provides standard error in functionality. This node runs normally even if an error occurred previously. If an error occurred before this node runs, the node passes the error in value to error out, and no errors that occur while this node runs are recorded. If an error occurs while this node runs and no error occurred previously, the node sets its own error status in error out. The default is no error.
instrument handle out
—
instrument handle out passes the handle used to identify the session in all subsequent NI-DCPower VI calls.
