Discovers if an output cutoff limit was exceeded for the specified reason.

When an output cutoff is engaged, the output of the channel(s) is disconnected. If a limit was exceeded, the state is latched until you clear it with niDCPower Clear Latched Output Cutoff State or niDCPower Reset With Channels

reason specifies the conditions for which an output is disconnected.

Note NI-DCPower uses the terms "source" and "output". However, while sinking with electronic loads and SMUs these correspond to "sinking" and "input", respectively.
Note This VI is not supported by all instruments. Refer to Supported VIs by Device for information about supported instruments.

Inputs/Outputs

  • civrn.png instrument handle

instrument handle identifies a particular instrument session.

  • cstr.png channel name

channel name specifies to which channel(s) to apply this configuration value. Specify the channel(s) using the form PXI1Slot3/0,PXI1Slot3/2-3,PXI1Slot4/2-3 or PXI1Slot3/0,PXI1Slot3/2:3,PXI1Slot4/2:3, where PXI1Slot3 and PXI1Slot4 are instrument resource names and 0, 2, and 3 are channels.

If you do not wire this parameter, all channels in the session are used.

  • ci32.png reason

reason specifies which output cutoff conditions to query.

    All (-1)

Any output cutoff condition was met.

    Voltage Output High (1)

The output exceeded the high cutoff limit for voltage output.

    Voltage Output Low (2)

The output fell below the low cutoff limit for voltage output.

    Current Measure High (4)

The measured current exceeded the high cutoff limit for current output.

    Current Measure Low (8)

The measured current fell below the low cutoff limit for current output.

    Voltage Change High (16)

The voltage slew rate increased beyond the positive change cutoff for voltage output.

    Voltage Change Low (32)

The voltage slew rate decreased beyond the negative change cutoff for voltage output.

    Current Change High (64)

The current slew rate increased beyond the positive change cutoff for current output.

    Current Change Low (128)

The current slew rate decreased beyond the negative change cutoff for current output.

    Current Saturated (512)

The measured current saturates the current range.

    Voltage Measure High (1024)

The measured voltage exceeded the high cutoff limit for voltage output.

    Voltage Measure Low (2048)

The measured voltage fell below the low cutoff limit for voltage output.

  • cerrcodeclst.png error in (no error)

error in describes error conditions that occur before this node runs. This input provides standard error in functionality.

  • iivrn.png instrument handle out

instrument handle out passes the handle used to identify the session in all subsequent NI-DCPower VI calls.

  • ibool.png state

state specifies whether an output cutoff has engaged.

true An output cutoff has engaged for the conditions in reason.
false No output cutoff has engaged for the specified reason.
  • ierrcodeclst.png error out

error out contains error information. This output provides standard error out functionality.
