MAX Tools Menu

The Tools menu provides the following standard options:

NI Network Browser—Launches the NI Network browser, which enables you to detect and configure NI network devices through a web browser.

NI Registration Wizard—Helps you discover and register your NI products to facilitate technical support and ensure you receive important updates. The information you submit will be handled in accordance with the NI Privacy Statement at ni.com/legal.

Real-Time Hypervisor Manager—Configures and manages a Real-Time Hypervisor system. The Real-Time Hypervisor Manager includes an interface for configuring required hypervisor settings, such as interrupt lines and operating system assignments for the hardware devices in the system. For more information about the Real-Time Hypervisor, refer to the Real-Time Hypervisor Help (Start»All Programs»National Instruments»Real-Time Hypervisor»Real-Time Hypervisor Help).

Note  The Real-Time Hypervisor Manager menu item appears only when this feature is installed.

Create Desktop PC Utility USB Drive—Reformats a USB drive with a LabVIEW Real-Time boot USB utility on a boot-capable Desktop PC.

Reset Configuration Data—Resets all NI configuration data on the system.

Caution  You must restart the system before you use NI products. If you do not restart after you select the Reset Configuration Data operation, your NI products could be damaged.

In addition to the standard tools, MAX can expose item-specific tools you can use to configure, diagnose, or test your system, depending on which NI products you install. As you navigate through MAX, the contents of the application menu change to reflect these new tools.
