You can replace a DSP48E function with a DSP48E1 function or vice versa by right-clicking the function and selecting Replace with DSP48E1 or Replace with DSP48E, respectively. For example, if you move a VI from a Virtex-5 FPGA target to a Virtex-6 FPGA target, you might want to replace a DSP48E function with a DSP48E1 function.
