Complete the following steps to configure alarms.
  1. Right-click a target or a LabVIEW project library in the Project Explorer window and select New»Variable from the shortcut menu to display the Shared Variable Properties dialog box.
    You also can right-click an existing shared variable in the Project Explorer window and select Properties from the shortcut menu to display this dialog box.
  2. Select Alarming from the list of this dialog box to display the Alarming page.
  3. Place a checkmark in the Enable Alarming checkbox.
  4. Place a checkmark in the cells of Enabled column for the alarms that you want to configure.
  5. Set the alarm attributes in the Alarming section. The available attributes vary depending on the data type of the shared variable that you are configuring, for example, double, Boolean, bit array, and string.
  6. Click the OK button to close the dialog box.
Note You also can use the Distributed System Manager to configure parameters of shared variable alarms. Select Tools»Distributed System Manager to launch the System Manager.
