For a given simulation, you must specify and configure the ordinary differential equation (ODE) or differential algebraic equation (DAE) solver.
Complete the following steps to specify and configure the solver for a simulation:
- Double-click the Input Node of the Control & Simulation Loop to launch the Configure Simulation Parameters dialog box.
- In the ODE Solver pull-down menu, select the ODE or DAE solver for the simulation.

Note Solvers have various strengths and weaknesses. Choose a solver that is appropriate for the model and application. - (Optional) Configure the options available for the solver. If you specify a fixed step-size solver, you can configure only the Step Size (s) option. If you specify a variable step size solver, indicated by the term (variable) next to the solver name, you can configure options that define the step sizes, tolerance, and so on.
