Computes an estimation of the AC and DC levels of the input signal.

This VI is similar to the AC & DC Estimator VI.

Note By default, reentrant execution is enabled in all Point By Point VIs.

Inputs/Outputs

  • cbool.png initialize —

    initialize, when TRUE, initializes the internal state of the VI.

  • cdbl.png signal —

    signal specifies the input time-domain signal, usually in volts.

  • ci32.png sample length —

    sample length is the length of each set of incoming data. The VI performs computation on each set of data. The default is 100.

    sample length must be greater than 0.

  • idbl.png AC estimate (Vrms) —

    AC estimate returns the estimate of the input signal AC level in volts rms when the input Signal is in volts.

  • idbl.png DC estimate (V) —

    DC estimate returns the estimate of the input signal DC level in volts if the input Signal is in volts.

  • ii32.png error —

    error returns any error or warning from the VI. You can wire error to the Error Cluster From Error Code VI to convert the error code or warning into an error cluster.

    • The AC & DC Estimator PtByPt VI routine performs spectral analysis to the extent that it separates DC, bin 0, from AC, the rms sum of the rest of the bins.
