This page shows the slave device EtherCAT-specific watchdog properties. The watchdog can trigger slave device error handling. For example, entering the Safe-Operational state when a certain condition happens.
This page includes the following component:
- Enable Sync Manager Watchdog—Specifies whether to enable the sync manager watchdog for the slave device to monitor the related sync manager. The sync manager controls access to the application memory. A write access to the application memory area configured in the sync manager resets the watchdog.
- Timeout—Specifies the timeout value of the EtherCAT watchdog. The default is ten times of your scan period. If you do not use the scan period to set the watchdog timeout value, you can set the value to a multiple of 100 microseconds according to your needs.
