PXI

The PXI instrumentation in the Data Record System includes a chassis, a controller, and configurable modular instruments.

Power Supply

The PXIe-1092DC chassis is powered by a single DC power supply module and the PXIe-1095DC chassis is powered by two DC power supply modules.

Note Your chassis manual contains instructions for replacing an AC power supply that you can refer to for replacing your DC power supply, but the input power connector on your DC power supply will differ from that of the AC power supply. Refer to Assembling the Power Cable for instructions to assemble the power cable that comes with your DC power supply.

Chassis LED Indicator Descriptions

The chassis has three front panel LEDs. The following table describes the possible states of each LED:

LED State Description
Power Supply LED Off Chassis is powered off.
Steady green Chassis power supply or supplies are active and operating normally.
Blinking red[1] In a redundant power setup, one power supply has failed.
Steady red The chassis power supply has failed.
Temperature LED Off Chassis is powered off.
Steady green Intake or exhaust temperature is within chassis operating range.
Steady red Intake or exhaust temperature is outside of chassis operating range.
Fan LED Off Chassis is powered off.
Steady green All chassis fans are enabled and operating normally.
Steady red One or more chassis fans have failed.
All LEDs Blinking red An internal chassis fault has occurred.

Camera Interface Modules

The PXIe-1486 and PXIe-1487 are FlexRIO-based camera interface modules containing either an FPD-LINK III (PXIe-1486) or GMSL (PXIe-1487) chipset that supports inline MIPI CSI-2 encoding and decoding.

Each module is available in three different configurations for different input and output channel counts. You can use FlexRIO to further customize the behavior of the FPGA in each module.

RAID Storage Module

The 15 TB PXIe-8267 PXI Express high-speed, non-volatile memory express (NVMe) data storage instrument features large-capacity, high-throughput storage in a single PXI Express slot. With M.2 solid-state drives, the PXIe-8267 is ideal for reliably streaming data from the AD sensors and automotive networks in your vehicle.

Alternatively, you can use the PXIe-8394 to stream data from your vehicle to an external RAID array to enable hardware RAID support or expand storage capacity.
