Creating a New Project and System Definition File

Complete the following steps to create a new project file and system definition file (.nivssdf) in VeriStand. The system definition file contains system configuration settings. It configures the physical hardware in the test station, such as the chiller, the measurement I/O device, cycler, and the environmental chamber.
  1. Launch VeriStand to display the Getting Started window.
  2. From the Getting Started window, select Default Project to display the Create New Project dialog box.
  3. Enter a project name in the Project Name text box.
VeriStand automatically creates a new system definition file when you create a new project and names the system definition file the same as the project file. You also can manually enter a different file name by removing the checkmark from the Use project name checkbox on the System Definition page of the Create New Project dialog box.
