Starting or Stopping the Shared Variable Engine on Windows 7/Vista

You cannot use the System Manager to start or stop the Shared Variable Engine (SVE) on Windows 7/Vista. Use the Windows Service Manager to start and stop the SVE. You must possess administrator privileges to perform this action on Windows 7/Vista.
Complete the following steps to start or stop the SVE using the Windows Service Manager.
- Select the Start Menu.
- Enter Services in the search field.
- Select Services from the Programs list that appears. If necessary, enter a user name and password to obtain administrator privileges.
- In the Services window, right-click National Instruments Variable Engine and select Start or Stop from the shortcut menu to activate or disable the SVE.
