View Differences Dialog
View Differences Dialog
The View Differences dialog box displays a preview of newly imported SCM data compared with current SCM data values that the new data will replace in the active sequence file. You can launch this dialog box by clicking on the View Changes button in the Import/Update from Specification Compliance Manager (SCM) tool.
The View Differences dialog box contains the following information:
- Source —Displays sequence file that will be updated, and a count of changes, insertions, and deletions introduced in the sequence file to which values are being imported.
- Differences Table —Displays the differences grouped by sequences, file global variables, file properties, and types for each specified file.
-
Filters Tab
—Displays the filters applied for the Differences Table. The Filters tab contains the following options:
- All —Hides all items with no differences. When you enable this option, the Elements option is disabled.
- Elements —Hides all the elements of a property with no differences.
- Condense Nested Differences — Hides the sub-elements of a property that do not have differences and shows only the sub-element that does have a difference. When a property condenses, the parent item of the property replaces the property in the Differences table with the only sub-element of the property that has a difference. The utility replaces the name of the sub-element in the Differences table with a lookup string, such as Locals.Container.Number, that represents the path from the parent element of the property to the sub-elements of the property that have differences.
-
External Diff Tool Tab
—Enables the Use External Diff Tool option when you want to specify an external tool to compare string properties and comments in two files. When you enable this option, the following additional options become available:
- Location —The absolute file path to the external tool you want to use.
- Arguments —The arguments to pass to the external tool. The arguments must always begin with %1%2.
Right-click on a string property in the Differences Table whose value has changed after performing import and select Launch External Diff Tool to launch the external tool that you specified.
