Types Window Context Menu
Types Window Context Menu
To access the View Types For context menu, right-click a type, subproperty, or the background area of the pane. The View Types For pane context menu can contain the following items:
- Customize Type Palettes —Launches the Configure Type Palettes dialog box, in which you can add or remove type palette files from memory.
- Step Type Menu Editor —Launches the Step Type Menu Editor dialog box, in which you can organize the Step Types list of the Insertion Palette and Insert Step submenu of the Steps pane context menu.
To access the Types Window context menu, right-click a type, subproperty, or the background area of the pane. The Types Window context menu can contain the following items:
- Insert Type or Field —A submenu from which you select the data type for the type or field you want to insert.
- Combine with Step Type —A submenu from which you select the step type to merge into the selected step type .
- Password Protect —Launches the Password Protect Type Definitions dialog box, in which you can enable or disable password protection and change the password settings for the selected types. You can change the settings for multiple types at one time.
- Lock —Locks any of the selected types which have password protection enabled and which are not already locked. You can lock multiple types at one time. Selected types which are already locked or do not have password protection enabled are ignored.
- Unlock —Launches the Unlock Type Definitions dialog box, in which you can enter the correct password to unlock any selected types to which the password applies. TestStand ignores any selected types that are already unlocked or for which you have not enabled password protection. If the password you enter does not apply to all of the selected types, TestStand launches the Unlock Failed for Some Type Definitions dialog box, which gives you the option to return to the Unlock Type Definitions dialog box and enter another password to unlock the remaining types.
- Cut —Removes the selected type or subproperty and places it on the clipboard.
- Copy —Copies the selected type or subproperty to the clipboard.
- Paste —Inserts the type or subproperty from the clipboard.
- Delete —Deletes the type or subproperty.
- Rename —Displays a control for renaming the selected type or subproperty.
- Properties —Launches a dialog box in which you can edit a step type or named data type, or change the value of a subproperty of the type.

View
—Lists the available panes or windows for a sequence file. These commands are available only when a Sequence File window is active.
- Steps —Displays the Steps pane where you edit the steps in the Setup, Main, and Cleanup step groups for the sequence file.
- Sequences —Displays the Sequences pane where you edit the sequences in the sequence file.
- Variables —Displays the Variables pane where you edit the locals, parameters, and file globals for the sequence file and station globals.
