Filters Tab - TestStand File Diff and Merge Utility

Filters Tab

You can use the Filters tab of the TestStand File Diff and Merge utility to hide properties with ignored differences or no differences in the Differences table . The Filters tab contains the following options:

  • All —Hides all items with ignored differences or no differences. When you enable this option, the Step Properties and Element options are disabled.
  • Step Properties —Hides all the properties under a step with ignored differences or no differences.
  • Element —Hides all the elements of a property with ignored differences or no differences.
  • Condense Nested Differences —Hides the subelements of a property that have ignored differences or no differences and shows only the subproperty that does have a difference. When a property condenses, the parent item of the property replaces the property in the Differences table with the only subelement of the property that has a difference. The utility replaces the name of the subelement in the Differences table with a lookup string, such as Locals.Container.Number , that represents the path from the parent element of the property to the only subelement of the property that has a difference.
  • Ignore Options —Options to ignore types of differences. The utility treats ignored differences as a separate difference type with its own difference count. Ignored differences do appear in the Differences table; however, the navigation shortcut buttons skip ignored differences. The filter options to hide or condense will remove any ignored differences from the Differences table.
    • Variables with Shared Flag —Ignores differences in variables in the File Globals, Sequence Locals, and Sequence Parameters subtrees when they have either the Shared or Shared at Runtime flag enabled.
      • Auto Resolve Ignored Conflicts —Automatically resolves any conflicts that result from ignoring variables with the Shared flag. This option is available only when you are comparing three files and the Variables with Shared Flag option is enabled.
    • Minor Module Differences —Ignores minor differences in the module properties of a step. The list of properties ignored is Connector Pane Checksum, VI Description, Connector Number, DefaultArraySize, and a LabVIEWIOControl’s SessionNumber when the DeviceName is set for both LabVIEW and LabVIEW NXG modules.
      • Auto Resolve Ignored Conflicts —Automatically resolves any conflicts that result from ignoring minor module differences. This option is available only when you are comparing three files and the Minor Module Differences option is enabled.
