Setting Target Parameters in Target Configurations

Set target parameters in Target Configurations through the RTG UI.

  1. In the instrument tree, select RTG » Target Configurations under an initialized instrument.

  2. Set triggers with the synchronization mode selector and synchronization time offset field.

Time Offset Relative to First Set a time in seconds (s)
Time Offset Relative to Last Set a time in seconds (s)
Pulse Rising Edge Set a time in seconds (s)
Pulse Falling Edge Set a time in seconds (s)
  3. Click Disabled/Enabled to enable targets. The software supports between one and four targets per instrument, depending on selected personality.
  4. Enter the target parameters for the target(s). You can configure the following settings for each target based upon the mode of operation:
    • Time-Frequency—The Time-Frequency mode uses an absolute frequency shift to simulate a target.
      • Time Offset—Amount of time that the pulse is delayed inside the system.
      • Attenuation Offset—The change in power level (gains not supported) of the pulse inside the system.
      • Frequency Offset—Absolute frequency shift to simulate a moving target.
    • Range-Velocity—The Range-Velocity mode requires information about the current radar pulse's center frequency to calculate the correct shift.
      • Range—The distance an incoming pulse should be delayed inside the system. This distance is converted into a time based offset to be applied within the system.
      • Attenuation—The change in power level (gains not supported) of the pulse inside the system.
      • Velocity Offset—Relative frequency shift to simulate a moving target.
  5. Click Send Target Configuration.
  6. If Software Trigger is selected, click Send Software Trigger to send an immediate trigger.
