Installing the RTG Components

Set up the RTG hardware components in the PXI chassis.
- Review the safety and compliance documentation for each component in the system.
- Assemble the tools needed for installation.
- Install and configure the PXI chassis according to the PXI chassis documentation.
- Install and configure the PXI controller as a Windows OS controller according to the PXI controller documentation.

Set up the VST instrument(s). Refer to the VST documentation for information
about performing each step.
- Install the VST in the PXI chassis.
- Connect all inter-module cabling, ensuring that all cables are properly installed to their recommended torque specifications.
- (Optional) If using a PXIe-5841 VST without the PXIe-5665, connect the RF OUT LO OUT port to the RF IN LO IN port on the PXIe-5841 module.
- (Optional) If the VST includes mmWave radio heads, set up the devices and connect with the recommended cables and power supply adapter.
- (Optional) Install the PXIe-5699 Agile Attenuator module in the PXI chassis, as described in the PXIe-5699 documentation.
- (Optional) Install the SCB-42 in the PXI chassis, as described in the SCB-42 documentation.
- (Optional) Install the Coprocessor in the PXI chassis, as described in the Coprocessor documentation.
- (Optional) Install the synchronization module in a PXI Express timing slot in the PXI chassis, as described in the synchronization module documentation.
- Install slot blockers and slot covers in unused slots to ensure proper cooling. Refer to the PXI chassis documentation to ensure adequate chassis cooling and ventilation.
- Power on the chassis.
- Set the chassis fan speed to AUTO or HIGH, depending on the chassis. Refer to the PXI chassis documentation for information about setting the fan mode.
