Use MAX to route the trigger buses to match the Signal Routing configuration file based on the location of the master VST. Refer to Routing PXI Trigger Lines Across the Buses of Multi Segment PXI Chassis to learn how to route signals across the trigger bus of a PXIe chassis.
- Launch NI MAX and find the chassis under Devices and Interfaces that contains the VST_00, the master synchronization instrument.
- Select the Triggers tab.
- Identify the master VST (VST_00)'s Trigger Bus segment by referring to the Legend on the Triggers tab.
-
Set the values of the SyncPulseExport and
StartTriggerExport keys in the SignalRouting.ini
configuration file to Away From Bus X where X is the
trigger bus segment containing the master VST.
Figure 1. Setting Triggers in MAX
- Set the values of the SyncPulseImport and StartTriggerImport keys to Away From Bus 2, because all imported signals are routed from the synchronization module in segment 2.
-
For all other chassis in the system, set the values of
SyncPulseExport, SyncPulseImport,
StartTriggerExport, and StartTriggerImport to
Away From Bus 2.
If everything is set correctly, RF Recording Software will work correctly when using the multi-chassis synchronization option.
If timeouts occur, verify the reference clock and trigger connections in Cabling for System Use and repeat the steps for this section.
