The RTG requires an INI file to configure the RTG.

The bar above the columns shows the current working directory. Click this bar to browse to a different folder. The Files column lists every RTG INI file found in the selected working directory. Select a file to load it into the Sections and Editor panes. Right-click the bar and choose Open in Explorer to open the folder in Windows Explorer.

File names carry simple status markers:

  4. Add hardware and edit fields as needed.

Opening a Configuration File or Directory

  • To open a specific INI file, select File » Open File or press Ctrl + O. The Configuration Utility switches the working directory to that file's folder and selects it. Files that are not recognized as RTG configurations can still be opened.
  • To open a directory, select File » Open Directory. Choose a folder to browse. The file list shows the INI files each folder contains.

A configuration file is only written to disk if it passes validation. If you try to close the Configuration Utility with unsaved changes, it prompts you to save, discard, or cancel.

Setting the Default Configuration File

To prompt the RTG to use a particular file, complete the following steps:
  1. Select the file in the Files column.
  2. Chose File » Make Default.
The Configuration Utility records the redirection by setting the INIPath key in the system default file and marking the chosen file with a pin icon. To remove the redirection and revert to the system default file, choose File » Reset Default File or right-click the file and select Clear Default.
