Setting Visual Styles for User Interfaces

Refine your user interface by adding color, images, or other visual elements to distinguish parts of the UI from one another.

Coloring Objects and Backgrounds
Change the color of LabVIEW front panel objects, front panel panes, and the block diagram workspace using the Coloring tool. Use foreground and background colors, system colors, user-defined colors, or transparency to match your VI style.
Selecting Custom Colors
Select custom foreground or background colors using the LabVIEW color picker. Enter RGB values or use the color utility of the operating system.
Configuring User-Defined Colors
Color the front panel background and objects with the user-defined colors in the color picker to maintain a consistent color scheme across the VIs in an application.
Copying Colors from One Object to Another
Copy an object foreground and background color with the Get Color eyedropper tool, then apply it to another object.
Using Decorations on the Front Panel
Decorations on the front panel group or separate objects using boxes, lines, or arrows. Decorations are for organizing front panels visually and do not display data.
Importing Background Images for Panes
Import a BMP, JPEG, or PNG background image for a LabVIEW pane using Pane Properties. Set image position options to control how the image displays in the pane.
Importing Graphics on Linux
Import image files on Linux into the LabVIEW clipboard, including JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, XWD, and animated MNG formats.
Importing Graphics on macOS
Import image files into LabVIEW on macOS by copying, dragging, or importing the image to the clipboard in LabVIEW.
Importing Graphics on Windows
Import image files into LabVIEW on Windows by using the clipboard, drag and drop, or importing to the clipboard in LabVIEW. Supported formats include GIF, JPG, BMP, PNG, and animated MNG.
Cross-Platform Behavior for User Interface Fonts and Colors
Configure fonts and colors to improve the usability and appearance of LabVIEW user interfaces across platforms. Built-in fonts and system colors update automatically and substitute closest matches when unavailable.
